Today’s broad brush will focus on today’s running back landscape and the subsequent impacts of a recent injury tsunami. If you’re lucky enough to still have any early round RBs on two legs, I commend you. To the other 99.9 percent of fantasy players, here are my custom top-25 RB projections for Week 3 (and the Cliff’s Notes response to your late start/sit questions).
When it comes down to choosing between similarly projected players, don’t obsess over decimal points. Projections display the mean, so don't be afraid to add nuance. Personally, I run through my usual tiebreakers. Aim for the running back with the highest projectable volume on a team that’s favored with the highest Vegas implied team totals.
If that doesn’t work, prioritize backup RBs on underdogs that catch passes in PPR formats (Bears' Roschon Johnson, Steelers' Jaylen Warren) or those with TD equity in standard leagues (Bills' Damien Harris).
