We’ve got a new release from Relley C and this one is a total epic track, titled “Complicated”. It’s been a bit of a wait since last year’s music video release of “Priceless” featuring Lady Sanity, which was taken from Relley C’s Square One EP. Now, we’ve got this awesome single that is certainly one of our favourite new releases, this week.
Relley C, full name Sherelle Clarke-Samuels, is best known for being a contestant on The X Factor. She competed in series 10 and series 13, in the former she made it to Judges’ Houses before being sent home; but, in the latter, she made it to the live shows and came tenth overall. She has since gone on to release three singles, her debut being “Unruly”, her sophomore single being “Tell Me That“, and now this new one “Complicated”, as well as her debut EP Square One. We hope that more music is on its way from this Birmingham artist.
According to Spotify, the song has been written by Gabriella Henshaw, Lee Jennings, and Sherelle Samuels, whilst it was produced by Adam Knight and Nathan Smith. It’s definitely a track we will be playing on repeat.
Her new song, “Complicated” starts off with a hypnotic instrumental that soon turns upbeat when she starts her first verse. Fierce and in control, Relley C shines with her vocals throughout. The track has an R&B edge to it but there are various styles running within the track, with an awesome bridge that we can’t stop listening to, and a mellow chorus. This song is like nothing we’ve heard before and Relley C’s vocals are on-point from start to finish. This has got to be the best Relley C song that she’s released to date! Lyrically, the song is about being in a complicated relationship, and it’s clear she means every single word of it.
