Maury Povich is an American television personality, best known for hosting the tabloid talk show Maury since 1991. He is also a former news anchor and talk show host. Povich was born in Washington, D.C., the son of Ruth (née Reimer) and Shirley Povich, a sportswriter for The Washington Post. He attended the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a member of the Pi Lambda Phi fraternity. Povich began his career in broadcasting in 1961, working as a news reporter for WTTG-TV in Washington, D.C. He later worked as a news anchor for WRC-TV in Washington, D.C., and then for WNAC-TV in Boston, Massachusetts. In 1991, Povich began hosting the tabloid talk show Maury, which has since become one of the longest-running talk shows in television history. He has also hosted the game show Twenty-One and the syndicated version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. As of 2021, Maury Povich's net worth is estimated to be $60 million.
