Model Lily Aldridge combined working out with a good deed by taking part in a charity event for Girls On the Run. Aldridge, 38, shared pictures of herself wearing black leggings and a crop top, posing next to her sister Ruby Aldridge. "A wonderful day celebrating the launch of Power Beyond @beyondyoga riding for an Amazing Organization @girlsontheruninternational 🫶 Thank you GOTR for all you do for young ladies ❤️❤️❤️," she captioned the post. Here's how this busy mom-of-two stays strong and happy, and what her fitness goals are for 2024.
Aldridge exercises first thing to start the day on a high note. "I always try to work out in the morning if I can. It gets my endorphins going," she told SELF. "Plus, I don't have to think about it for the rest of the day. Sticking to that routine helps keep me healthy… Everyone has off days, but I've learned it's easier to be positive than grumpy. When you're in a mood, the only person you're really affecting is yourself. Remembering how blessed I am snaps me out of it."
Aldridge has developed an appreciation for running. "For 2024, I'm really challenging myself and prioritizing running — I'm running my first 5K this year," she told Beyond Yoga. "Some of my favorite ways to stay active are changing. I'm really trying to challenge myself to open new doors for myself. This year, I've prioritized running — something I always joked that I couldn't or I didn't want to do. And I was like: Why do I think this about myself? So I signed myself up for my first 5K race and I'm going for it. So even if I decide, you know what, I'm not a runner? At least I tried and I didn't not believe in myself."
Aldridge eats lots of protein to fuel her fitness and keep her energized throughout the day. "When you work out as much as I do, you have to eat a lot, and you need protein to get nice, lean muscle," she told SELF. "I'll do eggs and fruit for breakfast, a sandwich for lunch and Gwyneth Paltrow's roast chicken for dinner."
Aldridge has a few foods, such as green tea, that she swears by for beauty benefits. "Grilled salmon with lemon and asparagus!" she told The Chalkboard Mag. "I basically eat this every day getting ready for the Victoria's Secret show, plus green juice – and I feel incredible. I can't speak more highly about drinking aloe water for your skin! It's amazing! I cover my face in oil at night before bed. It makes my skin so soft when I wake up."
Aldridge says she strives every day to become the strongest, healthiest version of herself. "When I prioritize my wellbeing, when I make that time for self-care, I can be a better person for everybody, and I can show up at 1,000 percent," she told Beyond Yoga. "If you forget those moments to take care of yourself, everything kind of falls out of place around you. I'm trying to learn, every day, how to prioritize my health, my wellness, and my longevity — working out to build strength so that I'm here for a long time and will be able to play with my grandkids."
