The conflict between Russia and Ukraine, the one between Palestine and Israel, or the possible confrontation between China and the West due to Taiwan, make Elon Musk wonder where mankind is heading.
"I think we are heading towards World War III, with one foolish decision after another. People should be deeply self-reflective if their predictions haven't come true, they should consider whether maybe their new predictions won't come true either. I mean, what's the track record like here? It's not good," he noted in the Wall Street Journal.
The owner of X warned that the conflict in the Middle East could spill over and become a global conflict, as it did in the case of World War I: "World War III is a civilisational risk from which we may not recover," he continued.

He also took direct aim at the US government: "The United States does not have the power benchmark it used to have and World War III would represent a war of superpower alliances in which one cannot easily defeat the other," he argued.
He warns of a union between China, Russia and Iran, which would pose a real threat to the West, which would no longer be at a military advantage. "A combination of Russia, China and Iran must be seen as very strong vis-à-vis the West", noting that "the basis of war is the economy, first and foremost, industrial production", something in which the Eastern powers are much bigger than those in the West.
